Washingtonian Magazine’s 2013 Cheap Eats List Features Masala Art
Tenleytown’s own Masala Art was named by The Washingtonian magazine as one of the metro region’s best ethnic restaurants where diners can enjoy a meal for less than $25/person, tax and tip included. The Indian restaurant was one of only 12 DC restaurants highlighted in the August 2013 Cheap Eats feature, which reviewed 72 area establishments with cuisines that included Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, Indian, Japanese, South American, Mexican and Salvadoran, Cuban and Caribbean, Ethiopian, Middle Eastern and select other regions. Of Masala Art, The Washingtonian said:
Like your curries with a kick? Head to this bustling Tenleytown dining room where most things, even typically mild chicken tikka masala, have a spiciness that creeps up on you. Meanwhile, the lamb vindaloo is best suited for those who get their Buffalo wings extra-extra hot. Mellow the slow burn of the gravies with garlic-and-pepper or cilantro-sprinkled naan.
I have yet to try Masala Art, but will be putting it on my short list for dining out for sure.
Masala Art is located at 4441 B Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
