Guide to Getting a Christmas Tree in Tenleytown
Need a Christmas tree? Hoping to get one this week? Well, Tenleytown has you covered! Here’s a list of where you can buy your greenery and support local organizations around town.
The Janney PTA will have Christmas trees for sale on Friday, December 6 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, December 7 from noon until 6:00 p.m. Stop by the school at 4130 Albemarle Street and partake in Tenley WinterFest as well.
Deal Middle School PTA will be selling trees at 3815 Fort Drive, NW from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for two weekends. You can purchase trees on December 7 and 8, and December 14 and 15. Deal is the only vendor on our list that offers you a second chance if you don’t get around to selecting your tree this weekend.
Boy Scout Troops
Boy Scout Troop 666 gets the jump on everyone by starting their tree sale on Friday, December 6 at 9:00 a.m. The sale runs until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Metropolitan Methodist Church, 3401 Nebraska Avenue.
Boy Scout Troop 1946 will start selling trees on the evening of Friday, December 6 and will sell all day on Saturday and Sunday, as well. Trees will be on sale at the National Presbyterian Church (NPC) at the corner of Van Ness Street and Nebraska Avenue. On Sunday, you can pick out your tree and then enjoy NPC’s free production at 5:00 p.m. of Handel’s Messiah at the church.
Boy Scout Troop 100 will have a one-day sale on Saturday, December 7 starting at 8:00 a.m. and continuing until they run out of trees at the Washington International Church, 4420 River Road, NW.
