Councilmember Catania, Janney ES Addition on ANC-3E Agenda
Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 3E released its agenda for the December monthly meeting, taking place this Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Absent once again from the agenda is discussion of the Safeway redevelopment project. While Safeway was anticipated to present its plans for the Tenleytown store before the end of the year, the developers asked to postpone their presentation until January. Hopefully the new year will bring some good news about the project that will both address neighbors’ concerns and invigorate the Wisconsin Avenue commercial corridor.
The December meeting will take up a proposed addition to Janney Elementary School, and will feature a presentation by D.C. Councilmember David Catania on education policy in the district. Catania, who is chairman of the council’s committee on education, announced last week that he is forming an exploratory committee for a potential mayoral run in 2014 as an independent.
The 2nd Police District will also provide its regular monthly update on crime and public safety in Police Service Area 202.
