REMINDER: Trash Collection Begins at 6 a.m. Thursday

Due to extreme temperatures – DC reached a record high of 97 yesterday – the Department of Public Works announced that trash and recycling collection would begin at 6:00 a.m. this week. For Tenleytown residents that means you will need to make sure your containers are along the alley or curbside an hour earlier than usual tomorrow.

Throughout the summer, when the temperature is predicted to be 90 degrees or higher or the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments announces unhealthy air quality (Code Orange or Code Red days), DPW collection crews will begin their work at 6:00 a.m. to avoid health or environmental issues.
