More Praise for Pete’s New Haven
Pete’s New Haven Style Apizza just keeps raking in the praise – and deservedly so. The latest accolade? Washingtonian included the four local pizza restaurants – including our very own in Tenleytown – in its annual Cheap Eats feature highlighting delicious dining for under $25.
Here’s what the magazine had to say about Pete’s:
The plain slices are great gets at this local chain of Connecticut-style pizzerias, sporting just-thick-enough crusts. Even better are the more offbeat creations, such as the Boola Boola—loaded with meatballs, caramelized onions, and hot peppers. Vegetarians will find lots to love, especially the Edge of the Woods, with fried eggplant, spinach, and ricotta.
My personal favorites are the Merritt Parkway – prosciutto, kalamata olives, caramelized onions, and basil – and the Nighthawk – basil pesto, grilled chicken, wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, and fresh mozzarella. Hmmm… maybe pizza should be on the menu for dinner tonight.
Pete’s New Haven is located at 4940 Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
