During demolition at the American University Tenley Campus in 2013, a time capsule dating from 1955 was recovered from a building cornerstone. After over half a century, the contents of the capsule will be revealed at a special opening ceremony this Saturday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Yuma Study Center, 4101 Yuma Street.

The ceremony, which is free and open to the public, is taking place in conjunction with the 2014 Immaculata All-Schools Reunion, which will be attended by alumnae of Dunblane School, Immaculata Preparatory School, Immaculata High School, and Immaculata Junior College – all of which were formerly located on the campus American University now owns. In addition to opening the capsule, the ceremony will include a brief presentation on the history of Dunblane and the Immaculata schools.
