Public Safety Notice: (Another) Arrestee Escape in Tenleytown
UPDATE: At 1:36 p.m. MPD Second District Commander notified the community by email that the escapee had been apprehended in the Sixth District.
Earlier today a juvenile escaped from the Psychiatric Institute of Washington in Tenleytown.
The Metropolitan Police Department provided the following information in a release at 12:49 p.m.:
At approximately 11:20 am today, a juvenile male escaped from the Psychiatric Institute of Washington located in the 4200 block Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
He is described as a 17 year old black male, 5’10”-6’0″ tall, weighing between 280-300 pounds. He was wearing blue hospital scrubs and possibly blue jeans. The subject had been charged in a stabbing incident and should be considered dangerous.
Anyone who sees him should take no action, but call 911 immediately. Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
This is the second recent escape by a detainee from the Psychiatric Institute of Washington. Kenneth Clayton, who was being charged with assault among other crimes, escaped three months ago on November 3. He was recaptured four days later.
