Stuff the Shed, Help Seniors Age in Place
Through April 25, Seabury Resources for Aging, headquartered in Tenleytown, is holding its second annual “Stuff the Shed” donation drive to benefit its Age-In-Place program. The Age-In-Place program provides basic home maintenance services, such as cleaning and yard work, to older adults living in Wards 4, 5, and 6. Services are provided by volunteers, free of charge, and help seniors maintain and remain in their homes.
Seabury is asking for donations of gardening and house cleaning supplies to help keep the Age-in-Place program free and widely available.
As you are gathering your own spring cleaning supplies, consider adding an item or two to your cart in support of the program. Not sure what to buy? Seabury has a Pinterest board with a wish list of items big and small, including trash bags, gardening gloves, cleaning products, rakes, loppers, weed wackers, lawnmowers, and more.
Donations can be dropped off in Tenleytown in the lobby of Seabury at Friendship Terrace, 4201 Butterworth Place, NW.
