School’s Back In Session

Summer has officially come to an end for D.C. Public School students who head back to the classroom today for the start of a new school year. In Tenleytown, more than 3,900 kids will be attending Janney Elementary, Alice Deal Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School.

Today also marks the start of new tenures for principals at Janney and Wilson, as Alysia Lutz and Kim Martin take the helm of their respective schools.

To all the kids, teachers, staff, and administrators we say, “Have a great year!”

And to all those traveling through our neighborhood this morning, and every morning, we say “Slow down, drive carefully, and keep an eye out. That’s our future walking to school.”
