D.C.’s 2016 budget allocates $200,000 for economic revitalization of the Tenleytown commercial district through a new Main Streets program. The Tenleytown/Friendship Heights ANC hosted a community meeting for residents and local business owners to learn more about the program and what it may mean for the neighborhood.

Turtle Park Renovation Delayed

It’s back to the drawing board for the planned renovation of Friendship Park, more commonly known among residents as Turtle Park. Construction of a new recreation center, playgrounds, and tennis and basketball courts was expected to begin this spring. However, unexpected project expenses have led to a redesign of the recreation center, delaying the start of the renovation.
